Asymmetrical overlay and shawl collar add nice visual interest |
The jacket has one overlay on the right front. Another pattern view has five overlays on a longer jacket which I would like to try also.
The back is simple and the length is 3-4 inches below the waist. While the pattern does not show a shawl collar, my fabric draped softly and wanted to roll at the neckline so I let it. The jacket has no interfacing which is fine for summer.
fabric detail |
This week I am sewing simple blouses that transition from summer to fall. One has fabric strips woven across the front insets and is a nice balance between wear ability and fine sewing details. This is the muslin:

Thanks for reading my blog!
I really like the jacket with the asymmetrical overlay. Simple and yet so lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rhonda. I hope you are having a great summer. I enjoy reading your blog.
DeleteHi there Ann,
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful creation from you; love the colour by the way. I wonder, will you be making a coat for the winter?
I am trying to find a way of changing my subscription e mail to continue receiving up dates via blogger, but I am struggling to work it out! Will get there eventually.
I have a wonderful navy wool coating and an interesting faux fur for a vest so let's hope so! I am still working on updating the blog template so maybe future changes will make it easier for you to follow the blog. Thanks for reading, have a great day!
